We’re back from vacation – it’s always such a let down to come home afterwards. I was up before dawn almost every day for over a week so I could watch the sun rise over the ocean while drinking my decaf. Today Rob woke me up just before sunrise to have coffee with him – I was so depressed and unmotivated to get out of bed. He tried to make it better by turning on the Virginia Beach cam and we watched it refresh while drinking our coffee and chatting. He even turned on the fan and had it blowing in our direction as our ocean breeze. Ha!! I stayed in a funk for most of the day and started to feel better in the evening. I sure am glad I’m off from work tomorrow still.
Oh yeah – we were supposed to still be in Virginia Beach, but the 2nd hotel we went to absolutely sucked. I wrote a review on Trip Advisor. We decided to cut our trip short and come home early. I think it was a good decision seeing how hard of a transition this has been for me. I’m glad I didn’t come home and have to go to work the very next day.
We did a lot while we were there besides chillin’ out on the beach (we did plenty of that, too!). We went to a waterpark, went on a dolphin watching tour, saw some concerts, went to the mall on a rainy day and on the last day we went to the Outer Banks and saw the Wright Brothers museum. On the way home, we went to D.C., but didn’t end up doing a whole lot there.
