Your post was so dead on it was almost eerie! My younger daughter will begin Jr High this year - she's our baby and I'd like to keep it that way! I'll be 37 this year and am having a big problem being 'almost 40'. Turning 30 and even 35 didn't seem to bother me at all, but 36 was drama for me. Our 18 yr old is in college now locally - Love her to pieces but she is a PITA!
Thanks for coming back to blogging. I used to read your site way back when - you are strong and beautiful and I admire you!

Hey - did I know you were a twin??? Did you know I am a twin? Cool! Do you have a brother or sister? I have a brother and I am 7 1/2 minutes older. Funny thing is, my mom said the same thing to me last night - that she had my younger sister still, who was only 7 and that she was also working, so she didn't have time to think about being sad or feel weird.

You know, my mom didn't bat an eye when we (my twin and I) went to Junior High - maybe because I had a younger brother? She didn't seem heartbroken when we moved away to college either. I was a little disappointed because honestly I was expecting (and kind of hoping for) hysterics. My dad did get a little sentimental when I finally moved out on my own after college. But my mom has by far had the hardest time adjusting to the thought of me getting married. I guess every parent has their tough moments.

I hope the Super Glue continues to work!

I don't have nearly as much of a problem with myself growing older as I do my kids. It just seems to fly by and every milestone keeps coming faster and faster!

When I start to think about how old Brody is, I have to give myself a talking to. "This is the way it's supposed to be. You raise them the best you can and you have to let them go." It works for a while....LOL
