Last night was one of those proud parent moments. We got to watch Connor participate in the Reading Olympics for his school. His team did really well and earned a blue ribbon. But, even better than that – for us – was that Connor performed SO well. He was one of the team captains and he just really handled himself like a pro. He acts much older than the other kids, which is pretty astonishing since he was skipped a grade and is one of the youngest in his class. It’s also astonishing that he is one of the youngest and is also the biggest! That boy is 5’8″ already and he’s not even 12 yet. Yikes. When we went to the Franklin Institute last weekend, he put his foot in Shaq’s footstep and it wasn’t THAT much smaller. I think we should start slaughtering cows now to make our own shoes for him.
It was also a nice night because Aric was with us and he had read some of the books the teams were answering questions about… and he knew some of the answers, too! I don’t know why, but it always amazes me when I see my kids’ brains working as they should. I actually thought to myself, “Wow, he read those books AND comprehended them! He’s a genius!” Ha! It’s funny how when it’s our kids doing these things, they are that much more special.
Here’s Connor and his team last night. They were so cute.

That’s so cool! You must be so proud!
WTG Connor! Your babies are growing up so quickly!
