Whatever I Feel Like

Just a quick update to let you all know that we’re in and everything went really well! We are LOVING it here. Just absolutely loving it. I will have pictures to post soon. Right now we’re in ripping up the carpeting, carpet tack strips and staples hell. Oh and painting and unpacking hell, too. My body is so sore, but it will all be worth it when we’re sitting pretty next week all done! (Hopefully!)

The move day was so great – we had so much help. We’ve never had that much help before for a move. Our friends came in shifts, so that was even better – when one team got tired, the next shift took over. Of course there were some that stayed the whole day and that was so appreciated.

One of the highlights of the day was when the neighbors across the street came over to welcome us. They brought us a hot pan of baked ziti, a loaf of Italian bread, a stick of butter, a baggie of grated cheese, paper plates, plastic silverware, napkins and a plate of brownies. Can you believe that? We have never had nice neighbors! Some have been mildly friendly, but none have been downright nice, YK?

Another highlight was finding out that underneath the incredibly ugly carpeting that there were beautiful hardwood floors in pristine condition!! Unbelievable. I hit my knees in the middle of the day to thank God for so many blessings. I felt extremely overwhelmed by all the love and goodness of the day.

Today I got the old house cleaned, both with me and the boys doing our stuff and getting the carpets professionally done. We had an unexpected expense with that and I feel like I got totally ripped off, but whatever – it’s done and we’re almost out of there. Friday at noon and we’re out completely! Oh and I should post about the total nightmare this morning trying to get back to the house when all the roads were closed due to flooding. Another time.
