The guys in our department are big on having nerf gun wars. They have even come back to the office at night to run around with the lights off playing “war”. It was all fun until they scared the shit out of the cleaning lady! HA! Now they are ready to take it to the next level, though. Meet the USB Missile Launcher. How much fun is that going to be?? Friday, July 28th, 2006I have always been the most sound sleeper on the face of the earth. I think I got it from my dad. He slept through a fire, fire alarm and fire company coming to their apartment once! Ha! But last night’s storms kept waking me up! Oh my goodness, I did not want to get up when the alarm went off this morning. Those were some strong storms, but luckily we didn’t lose power like we did last week. I heard some people in the area did lose power, too. We’re supposed to have more storms today – at least it’s daylight and I’m going to be at work, so it won’t interrupt a nap or anything. Ha!
New friends
Thursday, July 27th, 2006Well we did a “re-do” last night from Tuesday night with my co-worker and her friend and it was worth the wait. We all got along splendidly – the kids hit it off and I really like my coworkers friend. So, coolness! New friends all around. Also? They have an in-ground pool. Hello! I am all over that. She said that in the summers, we’ll be at her house with the pool and in the winter, we’ll be at my house with the pool table. Works for me. She has two boys – the older one is exactly in between Connor and Aric and her younger one is 2 years younger than Aric. I’m secretly happy that the kids are closer in age to Aric because he needs friends – BADLY. This morning I got an email from my new friend and it was SO nice. I’m thrilled! Yay for new friends in the neighborhood.

Headache
Wednesday, July 26th, 2006I’ve got the worst headache today. I think it’s related to food I ate at lunch. I think the tabouleh had wheat in it; some is made from barly and some from bulgher. I bet this was made with bulgher. I also had a taste of a green bean that was in some kind of sauce that definitely had sugar. I took one bite and spit it out, but who knows. I hate when that happens. I got the salad bar at this diner I have been to frequently in the past. They usually have a decent salad bar with lots of choices, but today’s choices were limited and also – the last time I ate there, my food plan still had wheat in it. It’s amazing to me how much certain foods affect me. I clearly have an allergy to them. And to think I spent my whole life ingesting these foods that so clearly do not mix well with my body’s chemistry. No wonder I was such a mess!
Anyway, I took medicine when I got back from lunch and it only served to dull the pain – I’m just hoping it doesn’t turn into a migraine – then I’ll really be in trouble.
In other news, I just downloaded a bunch of Bob Seger songs – I have come to realize recently how much I love him! Favorite song today: Fire Down Below.
