Saints go Marching In

Monday, September 25th, 2006

We’re watching Monday Night Football watching The Saints absolutely trounce The Falcons. I’m not really a fan of either team, but who isn’t routing for the Saints on a night like tonight? I wouldn’t even be surprised to learn Atlanta faked the loss just to boost the morale of this city. It was really cool to see U2 and Green Day performing, although we did miss their initial performance; I’ll have to catch that on YouTube later.

It’s just great to see the people of New Orleans having a reason to celebrate. I wonder how many of the people who are at the game tonight also spent time in the Superdome in the aftermath of Katrina when it was their only form of shelter. I hope quite a few.

Vegas, Baby!

Monday, September 25th, 2006

Speaking of work… guess what I just found out this morning? I’m going to Vegas again this year!!! Woo hoo!! This time we’re staying at the Venetian. Oh hell yes.

I have to do a presentation, which makes me nervous… but I know in my heart of hearts that I will do fine. I am excited about the visibility, actually!

So, now I have about 2 weeks to freak out about clothes, makeup, hair, jewelry and shoes! Hehehe!!

Redemption

I avoided posting anything about the birds today – until it was safe, after I got bit in the ass last week when they totally blew their lead over the Giants!

But, it’s safe to say now – E-A-G-L-E-S, EAGLES!!! Yay, my boys are back. It got a little hairy there in the 3rd quarter, but they pulled it out.

Today has been a delicious day of football watching in a sparkling clean house. My tailbone actually hurts from sitting too long!! But I don’t even care, it feels good to sit around and do nothing after being so busy all the dang time. Tonight is The Amazing Race and Desperate Housewives, so I’m not going anywhere any time soon. Maybe I need to get one of those tailbone chairs for TV watching!

Hope you had as glorious of a Sunday as I did. :-)

Yesterday I went to my brother’s to babysit his three kids with my sister. I also brought along my kids to help out. We had a nice afternoon and evening – I just love my twin nieces to death!! I love my nephew, too, but he’s almost 5 and already has some serious attitude going, so it’s a lot easier to like the girls since they’re still sweet. LOL! Plus, they are just adorable and incredibly well-behaved for two year olds!

Before we put the girls to bed, we gave them a shower – they insisted they get showers now and not baths. Their parents were highly amused to hear that since they do still get baths and Greg has only given them a few showers so far! Ha! The showers started out great – they were giggling like crazy and having a good time. But when I started to wash Katie’s hair and the water got all in her face, she started bawling. Woops! It didn’t get any better when I rinsed, either… but at least it was over fast. I had to do Sara next and naturally she said she didn’t want it done. The funniest thing, though, was Katie said to her, “Oh yes you do!!” (have to get it done). Hee hee!!!

At bed time, we all sang songs. That was the sweetest feeling ever. Me and my little sister singing with my brother’s two little girls… ahhhh… memories are made of this. After a few songs, Sara decided she wanted to sing all by herself. She sang Rudolph and it was so adorable, I ran to get my camera to record her singing more songs. Here’s Sara singing… no video, just audio – it was too dark in there.

Totally cute, right? So sweet!!

and she’s gonna get marr-ah-ar-ied!!! Today is Geeky’s wedding day! She hasn’t checked in for a couple of days, I’m sure she was super busy right before the big day. I hope she has a fabulous wedding and honeymoon. Happy Wedding Day, Geeky!
