Crazy Weather

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

We are having THE most unseasonal weather ever – it was almost 70 degrees today and right now at almost 10pm, it’s still 65! What in the world? It’s especially disconcerting knowing that half of the country is buried under a blanket of snow. And it’s just weird to come home to our house all lit up in its green, white and red splendor when it feels like it’s the end of summer, not fall.

I hear a big cold front is coming through tomorrow afternoon, though – so we’ll be back to more seasonal temps and hopefully we’ll have a chance at a white Christmas this year. I want it to be postcard perfect for our first Christmas ever in our new house. I want Norman Rockwell to come paint a portrait of life at our house on Christmas day because it is so idyllic. Heh.

Celebrity Endorsements

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

Entertainment Weekly has put out a list of the Best and Worst Celebrity Endorsements. While I agree with most of this list, I absolutely hate that Kirstie Alley is the first one in the series of “Best”. I beg to differ – I think she looks, sounds and acts like a buffoon. I see my man, William Shatner is in there, but he should have been first instead of Kirstie. What do you think of the list?

600 Threads

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

So we finally got new bedding and it came yesterday. Woot! I took a picture, but I don’t want to show until I get more pillows. Our current pillows are in a sad state, so I ordered new pillows last night. I got 4 Firm (for side sleepers) Wamsutta pillows ($10 each at!) and then I ordered a bunch of decorative pillows from Once they all come in, I’ll show you how great our bedroom looks now!

The new bedding was just a comforter set, so I had to also buy sheets and I decided to splurge and get 600 thread count. Oh my gawd. Last night was heavenly. I don’t know that I’ve ever slept in sheets so luxurious. I want to buy them for every bed in my house now! Love them. is having a great deal on them, too. Using coupons, I was able to get my comforter set and sheets for $115. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
