Massage or Skin Care Newbie?

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

My friend Deb has written some books that should be of great help to those interested in the massage and/or skin care fields. Deb wrote these books out of a need she saw that wasn’t being filled while she was learning the trades herself. You see, Deb is an accomplished expert in her fields these days, so she knows that of which she writes about. And now that Deb has cultivated her skills in the skin care and massage therapy arts, she is eager to share her knowledge with others while expanding her own accomplishments and becoming a well-read author.

If you’re just learning about the skin care or massage therapy fields, or if you’ve got an interest in them, why not check out Deb’s books? They’re reasonably priced and chock full of hard-earned wisdom and experience. Thanks for any consideration! If you decide to buy one of her books, drop me a line – I’d love to hear about it.

The Video

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

Wow, I just watched the video of Saddam Hussein’s execution. I would like to hear the translation of what was said during the ceremony, if you can call it that. It sure was lacking fanfare. I’d like to know what his last words were, though. Here’s the video in case you want to watch:

An Inconvenient Truth

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

Interesting story revolving around a letter written to Al Gore urging him to follow in the footsteps of the people behind the movie “The Corporation,” and offer an official BitTorrent version of “An Inconvenient Truth” in order to reach a much larger audience. Digg this and spread the word, maybe we can get Al Gore to actually do this.

This just came up on Digg – interesting timing because Rob and I are watching “An Inconvenient Truth” at this very moment. My answer to the question being posed is a resounding, “Yes!” He absolutely should put it online in some form – he wants to get the word out, there’s a faster way of doing it than going from town to town. Of course, having it on cable is effective, too. :-)

This movie didn’t tell me a whole lot that I didn’t already know besides how much Al Gore has been fighting the bureaucracy for years on these issues. I liked how Gore presented himself and the materials in this film. If he would have carried himself like this a few years ago, he might have won an election.

5 Things

Friday, December 29th, 2006

I’ve been tagged by this 5 Things Meme by more than a few people, so I figure I better do it before I never get tagged again and I’m left out of the cool kids club. Ha!

The thing is, I’m such an open book, I don’t know that there are 5 things you don’t know about me! I’ll just post things that you might not know about me unless you’ve known me a while. How’s that? Here we go.

  1. I don’t eat sugar in any form. This means Sucrose, Fructose, Barley Malt, Glucose, Maltose, Brown Sugar, Grape Sugar, Mannitol, Cane Sugar, Grape Sweetener, Maple Syrup and all the other names for sugar there are. The food manufacturers try to disguise sugar as well as they can. It’s maddening. I also don’t consume any artificial sweeteners, flour, caffeine or gum.
  2. I’ve played the flute, piccolo and oboe in band. I’m good at reading music, but can’t play a thing by ear
  3. My first male celebrity crush was on Shaun Cassidy. My first female crush was on Danielle Brisbois
  4. I once got in trouble after my brother tattled on me for lifting the dog’s tail and kissing her butt. Hahaha
  5. I long to be a green thumb who saves and nurtures plants. I used to be really bad at it, but I’m getting better!

So there you have it. Shocking, no?

I’m tagging Beth, Heather, Cindy, Jessie, and Kevin.
