I’m Average

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

You Are 80% “Average American”

You are average because you’ve known your best friend for at least ten years.

You are not average since you don’t drink.

How “Average American” Are You?

I’ll take that. I guess the average American is a drinker who keeps friends for a long time. I counted Rob as my best friend, so I don’t know if that’s really fair, but hey – it’s the truth. I’m closer to him than any of my girlfriends.

2 Weeks – Mark Your Calendars

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

It’s time for the birthday countdown, people! My birthday is 2 weeks from today. I just don’t want anyone to be unprepared. See how good I am to you all? You can thank me later.

I’m actually not really looking forward to my birthday this year. There’s nothing really magical about 37. Bleah.

Cold Hands

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

I’m usually colder than most people I know. I think my internal temperature gauge is just screwed up or something. I don’t know if it’s related to losing over 100 pounds over the past 5 years or not. I used to think it was because my metabolism was trying to catch up to my weight loss, but I’m beginning to think I didn’t know what in the world I was hypothesizing about. So, yeah, I’m used to being cold – but the past two days I’ve had a different spin on that problem. My hands have been like icicles! The rest of me is slightly chilly, sure, but my hands feel like they haven’t had blood circulating in them since last week. I wish I knew what caused this stuff and if I could cure it, because it sure is annoying. I can already see what my night is going to look like – going home and piling on a bunch of comfy layers to warm my freezing self up!

Pink Elephants

Monday, January 29th, 2007

Pink Elephants I started on my spring wardrobe accessories this weekend with my purchase of the Betsy in one of Vera Bradley’s latest prints – Pink Elephants. My mom, a friend and I all went to a boutique in Haddonfield, NJ that had a healthy collection of Vera stuff. Walking into Serendipity was like dying and going to paisley heaven. Or as my friend said, “It looks like someone threw up paisley in here.” HA!

Now I just need to get the matching wristlet wallet and cosmetics bag so that I’m all coordinated and stuff. Can’t be mis-matched, yo! And to make me feel even better about my purchase, 10% of the proceeds are going towards breast cancer research. It’s a win-win.
