CO Poisoning?

So you know that sickness I’ve had for almost 2 weeks now? One of my friends called me up today to say, “Amy! I know someone who knows someone else whose whole family died from carbon monoxide poisoning!” O.M.G.

I immediately went online to check the symptoms and um, you guys? I’ve got almost all of them. Although, I have been feeling a LOT better the past two days. Here’s the symptoms and where I stand with them:

  • Severe headaches – I have had mild, recurring headaches as well as migraines for a while now. But not all the time.
  • Dizziness – My dizziness has actually subsided quite a bit from what it was. It is still concerning, though, that it lasted for so long.
  • Mental confusion – That has been one of the odd symptoms with this illness that have bothered me. I do feel like it is subsiding like the dizziness, though.
  • Nausea – Same as above.
  • Fainting – Here is one good thing, I never actually fainted.

I do not think I have CO poisoning, but I do think I will invest in a CO detector anyway. I want to make sure the levels in our house are safe!

Eeek! Amy, I’m actually shocked you don’t have one already!!

I would think that if you did have it your entire family would have symptoms, too. Maybe it’s Mono????

We’ve got our CO Detectors in place

It is now a law in Illinois that all homes have to have CO detectors within 10 feet of all sleeping areas. I am not sure how they will enforce this law but I know it has made a lot of people invest in CO detectors. Several months ago seven people died in a house across the river due to CO. Three of them were children under 3. A huge shock to their tiny community.
