The Arrow of Time

Rob has wanted us to take regular family portraits for so long, and I keep putting him off. It just doesn’t feel like such a priority to me for some reason. After coming across this fascinating collection of photos of the Goldberg family from the past 30 years, I was suddenly struck with regret. Although looking at these pictures all at once made me immensely sad; the passage of time is always swift, but this collaboration moved the hands of time in warp speed on my screen. What great foresight this couple had, though, to capture themselves once a year for posterity. Looking through, I felt myself drawn the most to the mother’s face. She is a beautiful woman, although I don’t think she aged that well. The pictures seem to tell a story of a hard life, and I wonder were the boys a hardship for her? What stories did your mind conjure up as you looked through each year? Who were you most drawn to?
