Photo Letters to God

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

I stumbled upon this site with photo letters to God the other day and I just had to share. How cute are these things?? I’m trying to decide which one is my favorite since they are all so good, but I think this one made me smile the most.

Dear God, Instead of letting people die and haveing (sic) to make new ones why don’t you just keep the ones you got now?

Indeed.

Spring Has Sprung

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

It’s going to be almost 80 degrees today here in the Philly burbs. I’m totally psyched about that. Hopefully this nice weather will start to stick around now that we’re getting close to April. Rob and I are itching to get some work done around the outside of our house. There’s a lot to do, and I’m sure it will take more than a couple of years to finish it all, so we’re going to start small. This past weekend, we grilled out for the first time and the kids ate on the deck out back. I was thinking that we need some more stuff back there to make it more home-y. We’ve got to get patio furniture, and I was thinking that wind chimes would make a nice touch, too. I’ve always loved wind chimes, and thankfully, Rob likes them, too.

There are some really cute things for around the house on the Online Discount Mart. What do you think about this Sunflower Wind Spinner? I’m undecided, but I’m leaning towards really liking it.

We’ve spent a lot of time getting the inside of our house the way we want it, now it’s time for the outside. Bring on the good weather!

Thank God You’re Here

Monday, March 26th, 2007

I saw a preview for a new show last night and I immediately set up a series recording on my DVR for it. “Thank God You’re Here” is a celebrity improv series that was created in Australia and is being produced by the same people who brought us American Idol. This show is being hosted by David Alan Grier and judged by Dave Foley. Here’s a premise of the show, as written on the official website:

“Thank God You’re Here” showcases the improvisational skills of a group of four brave actors each week, as they walk into a live sketch without a script, their only armor an unforeseen and unexplained wardrobe change.

So it’s a whole lot of “Whose Line is it Anyway?“, with basically just one skit, sounds like. I’m a big fan of improv, so hopefully this show does well. In the previews I saw such celebrities as Jason Alexander, Tom Arnold, Wayne Knight, and Tom Green. Sounds great! The show premieres on April 9th on NBC.

My Castaways

Monday, March 26th, 2007

Deb and Ang. both tagged me on this Survivor-style meme. Everyone who gets tagged needs to pick 5 people to take with them on a desert island and explain why they chose who they did. For some reason, Deb and Ang. seem to think I’d be great to have around and wouldn’t freak out. I’m sure Rob would get a good kick out that. ;-)

Without further ado, here’s my castaways (said like, “my homeys, my peeps, yo!”):

Rob
– If anyone can survive on a deserted island, it’s Rob. He’s got all the military training behind him, plus he’s level-headed, a natural leader, big and strong. He’s also my lover, so those days and nights won’t seem so long with him around. :-)

Julie – I figure I’m going to need someone who’s good at the whole outdoorsy-camping experience, and Julie fits that bill nicely. She even started a whole blog about camping! She’ll be a nice compliment to Rob’s outdoor skills.

Techie – I want to have more than one man on this island and I think Techie will work out great because he’s sharp, has a great sense of humor, is easy on the eyes and also has a strong faith. He’d be our spiritual leader as well as the brawn to help Rob out.

Darla – I need someone who will get along with my other castaways and who will keep me laughing through the tears of being stranded. I also need someone who is level-headed, grounded and spiritual and that someone is Darla. I just hope she doesn’t bitch too much about the conditions. ;-)

Loretta – Anyone who has four boys and lived to tell about it can survive on a deserted island. I also like that she’s low-maintenance so I don’t think she’ll spend all her time whining. We need strong souls and I believe Loretta definitely qualifies there.

So there we have it. I hope we survive! Castaways – go form your own islands and post back here in the comments.

Turtle Booty Call

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

Do you live in the San Fran area? Do you have a female turtle? Is she perhaps lonely and needing some lovin’ if you know what I mean? Look no further. The John Holmes of turtles is ready and waiting for her.

You’re welcome.
