Growing up, April 1st was one of my favorite days of the year. First of all, it meant the last of the winter months were behind us and warmer weather was imminent. But, the anticipation of the pranks and fun that could be had on this day was really why I enjoyed it so much. My brother and I would spend a lot of time plotting out our nefarious plans, eagerly awaiting the day.
I like to instill that same spirit of playfulness in my kids, so we always play a prank or two on them every year. Today we’ve only done one so far: we woke them up, telling them they were late for school. Neither of them fell for it, but they did get up. Connor has promised I should be worried for when he gets his revenge, but I’m not exactly shaking in my boots.
We need to get busy thinking of some more jokes to play on them!
