I grew up in the 70s and 80s and have not, until very recently, realized what a great childhood I had. Visiting my parents this weekend, I was going through some old photo albums to remember what year we had our pool installed. (’77 for those wondering.) For some reason, the pictures just really touched me this time and I was struck with this sense of how much my parents loved us and how much they did for us our whole lives. They weren’t perfect, they’re human after all, but they sure did have the best of intentions, I think. Take a little trip down memory lane with me, won’t you?
Here’s my brother and I when we got our new puppy, very originally named Snoopy.

Check out me, my baby sister and my twin brother in a sea of patterns and colors.

On our new tricycles for our 3rd birthday. Love my face in this one.

Me bumming a ride from my dad on the bike.

As precious as could be with the obligatory zig-zagged afghan.

Sporting the do-rag and some funky glasses.

There are a few more, if you want to check them all out on my Flickr page.
