Gardening Pics

I told you I would take pictures of the work we did yesterday, and I did not lie. :-)
Here are the deck planters. You can see the rest of the pics, along with my comments on my Flickr.
I’m so excited to have the back yard start to shape up. Now we just need to get a fence and about a zillion (okay, 10) trees chopped down and I might start to feel a bit satisfied with the property. I hold my yard up to the bar of my parents’ yard - and it is no where near measuring up, but I reminded myself that they have had 35 years to get their yard in the shape it’s in. We’ve only been in our house for one year. Speaking of that, can you believe I didn’t go a big, “It’s been one year since we moved in!!!” post? I’m kind of disappointed in myself. I hope my house doesn’t disown me. I still love it, I promise.

That looks very pretty, and a nice place to relax. Why do you want to chop down the trees though? This coming from someone who lives in the desert with no trees ;)
hi! I admire people who are passioanate about gardening. I have a suggestion. To make your future garden more beautiful, try to buy some garden arbors. :)
It looks nice! I’m not trusted with outdoor gardening stuff. I tend to have a black thumb. If it has fur and four legs, it’s safe…if it’s green and grows outside, it’s my husband’s territory!
I love the plants and the brick deck. Nicely done. I’m also curious about why you want to chop down the trees?
Thanks! I sent Julie this link separately, but I guess I should put it here, too. :-) It’s the link to the photo album on Photobucket of when we first looked at our house and shows the extent of the trees that are in our yard. There’s just too many of them, they’ve taken over our yard and we can’t do much with the yard because of them. We don’t want to cut down all the trees, just a bunch of them.
Look at the ones titled “Back yard”
