John From Cincinnati Canceled

Usually when I hear about show cancellations, I’m bummed out because it’s a show I really loved (like Jericho!). However, today’s news made my heart skip a little beat of joy. John From Cincinnati has been canceled. This show was such a piece of crap. I tried to get into it, I tried to like it, I really did. I just couldn’t. The acting was incredibly sub-par, the storyline made absolutely no sense, the characters were all completely one dimensional and I liked them a whole hell of a lot better the first time I saw them - in Deadwood! Thankfully Timothy Olyphant and Ian McShane had the good sense to stay away from this joke by David Milch. And I’m still blown away that Milch would throw away a gem like Deadwood to create a stinkbomb like JFC. Well, at least it’s over. Thank God!
this was a very good show…guess you had to either live near the beach and/or spent alot of time at one..reminded me of Silver Strand/Hollywood Beach days as a partier ….right on the money …can’t u just let a little strange event ( visitor who u dont get ) enter your imagination…or are you that serious…geez
You must be new here if you think I’m a serious type of person. The show just sucked.
I thought the show sucked too. I think it was because the characters were great in Deadwood. But updating them and putting them in a 21st century run down of a surf town, just was too weird. I can appreciate the open minded, sort of psychedelic feel to the show, but I think for the main stream people who were expecting this to take off and replace the Soprano’s, it was too much.
I think he should start season 4 of Deadwood and have the sheriff wake up from a bad dream and continue the really GREAT writing of Deadwood.
Sorry….if you have ever been a surfer, the show was pretty dead on. As with many religions, misunderstood–and make no mistake, surfing, is a profound religion. Even the character of John wasn’t that surprising. If you didn’t like it, okay..but the characters were dead on–no pun intended.
I’ve never been a surfer, so maybe that’s why I had a problem identifying with the show. I still maintain that the acting was extremely shoddy. There was so much overacting going on there, I was embarrassed for the actors.
