Vacation!!

We’re leaving for a mini-vacation tomorrow morning and I’m so pysched. We haven’t taken a family vacation in two years and it’s desperately needed. We’re headed to the good ole’ Smokey Mountains Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwestern Virginia. Tonight I’m running around getting everyone finished packing and making all of my food preparations. I always feel like I need to bring every single household item and article of clothing we have ever owned with us, as if I am going on a trip to the wilderness the likes of which no man has ever seen before. In this place, there is no food, there is no shelter, there is no clothing – whatever we bring with us is what we get. I need to remember that the scary wilderness that exists only in my sick imagination is total and complete bullshit. I fantasize about the day where I go on a week-long trip with only a small travel bag in my possession without a care in the world.
So I’ll be back next Tuesday night. Don’t have too much fun without me, Internet!
Have a great time! Try some of those frogs’ legs if the Peaks restaurant still has them!! LOL
And….uh……it’s the Blue Ridge Mountains, not the Smoky mountains.
They still have frogs’ legs! LOL I went to their site and in the seafood buffet menu is listed……
“…..Fried Frog Legs….”
LMAO that I called them the Smokey Mountains! Definitely time for a vacation.

Have Fun! And, I agree with you, I envy people who walk on a plane with their purse and a book! I always have a purse, carry on back, books….all kind of junk!
Congrats on going on vacation! It sounds fun. I am on a ‘permanent’ vacation I guess you could say. I just moved to Norway last week. Anyways, I just wanted to tell you that I think your blog is really great…and I love the design. Have fun in the mountains!
I know what you mean about packing everything you own… but half the time I want it! Or I forget something… makes it that much harder to leave things behind the next time!

I MISS the Blue Ridge Mountains. You could see them from everywhere in my home town just outside of DC.

You guys have frogs legs… I live in France and have yet to come across them in a restaurant although I have seen them in the deep freeze section of the local hypermarche.
