For at least half my life (im 29) I experienced regular UTIs. Eventually I was quick to realize (self diagnose) when one was coming on. I was lucky to have a wonderful doctor, whom trusted me to diagnose myself, and had prescribed me cipro ahead of time. My experience is this: If you take 1 cipro at the onset of a UTI, it will knock out the infection before it even starts, furthermore, you only end up taking 1 cipro as opposed to an entire antibiotic regemend, which usually ends with a yeast infection – yay! Ugh I hate UTI’s they are just so frustrating sometimes. I had them chronically for about a year, I swear someone would sneeze and I’d have a UTI no matter what I did, ate, or drank! I started taking a cranberry supplement every day and I haven’t had one since I started doing that! So the cranberry must do something, thank goodness.

Cranberry usually does the trick for me after a couple of days. And i up my water intake. Hope you’re feeling beter soon.

Amy, I hope you are feeling better. I’ve never had a UTI, but I hear they hurt like hell. Sorry :(
