Fifteen years ago today, I married the man of my dreams. Hard to believe it’s been that long, but on the other hand, it’s hard to imagine a time when we weren’t together.
We’ve been through so much over those 15 years. Between moving cross country, then overseas, having kids, dealing with separations due to military assignments, adjusting to civilian life, financial hardships, working together, me delving deep into my addictions then subsequently going into recovery for them, family issues, finding new pets and saying goodbye to old ones, and all the other ups and downs that life brings, our love has remained strong.
We’re going away this weekend, and I’m really looking forward to reconnecting with that man of mine. Life has been so busy lately that we can sometimes be like two ships passing in the night. I want to revel in the enormous amount of love he has for me, hold hands as we explore the Lancaster countryside, and just relax and enjoy each other’s company. We’ve got a lot to celebrate – I’m proud of all we have accomplished, overcome and triumphed. Here’s to another 15, 25, 50, or more years together, honey bunny. xoxoxo
