"Don't Be a Nancy" will be in my mind for a loooong time! Ha Ha. Loved this posting! Next time I lose it with someone (or thing) I am going to first warn that I am getting ready to go nancy on them. Thanks for the laugh. By the way, I tell my small grandson that we are at Neiman's when we are forced to shop Wal Mart. Now when we pull up at Wal Mart he says, "What are we going to Neiman's for?" When he wants a new toy he says, "Gram, will you take me to Neiman's and buy me a toy?" You wouldn't believe the scowls I've gotten from certain people who overhear and haven't a clue he is referring to Wal Mart. Ha Ha.

What a beautifully written observation. I know I have been in Nancy's position before. It truely is hard to see ourselves clearly at times.

LOL. Great story.

Yes, I'm guilty of being a Nancy as well. However, I think when I am being a Nancy, it's very difficult for me to see. That's why there are a few close people I've invited in my life to point out these repeated, ignorant actions. It's usually hard for me to hear their initial calling out, but no one ever said repentance was easy.

I've found myself being a Nancy a few times. In this hurried, fast paced words sometimes its hard to control our frustrations. I enjoyed your post and your blog!

<i>"How many times have I tried to change people by repeatedly saying the same things to them? "</i>

Boy, do I ever identify with that. It's one thing to repeat a math lesson which may very well get learned in time (times tables anyone?) but, if I'm trying to influence behavior, saying the same thing only leads to resentments. Mine and theirs. Who needs that?
