Sony Retractable Headphones

Monday, March 5th, 2007

Retractable Headphones Sony has come out with these to die for retractable headphones. How cute are they? I want! Listening to my music at work will be so much more enjoyable wearing these compared to the heavy headphones I have now. And I’ll be able to take them with me so much more easily.

They’ve been released in Japan, hopefully they’ll be available either online or in the states very soon. They’re very reasonable at $20 for a set. These are going to go like hotcakes.

Portable Photoshop

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

I read tonight that Adobe is going to release an online version of Photoshop within 6 months. I love it! Sounds like they plan to make it ad supported, which should work well since if they do this right, I know it’ll be an extremely popular tool. Of course, they’ll have to scale down the application so you won’t get all of the features from the full version here. Gotta keep people paying for those software licenses to pay the bills, yo. I’m really looking forward to checking this out. It will be handy to have for when I’m on a computer that doesn’t have Photoshop. And for those people who have been relying on Microsoft Paint, this should open up a few doors.

Google Click to Call & Traffic

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

Google really is going to take over the world, aren’t they? I’ve seen two applications this week that just blew me away. The first one was the “Call” feature on Google Local. When you do a search for a local listing, a link titled “Call” appears next to each listing which, when clicked, prompts you for your phone number. Once entered, Google will place the call to the business for you. As soon as you hit enter, the phone number you entered rings, waiting to connect you to the business. Very, very cool. We’re already looking into how we can maximize this feature at work.

The second feature is on Google Maps and it’s called “Traffic”. Key in a location, then click on the “Traffic” link in the top right to see real-time traffic data overlaid on the map. Powerful!

Know When You’ve Been Dugg

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

I don’t think I’ve ever been Dugg, but I found a cool way to be alerted if I ever am! Check this out: How to be Alerted When You’ve Been Dugg. I wonder how my host would handle it if I ever made the front page of Digg or Fark? I don’t know that I post things that would be of so much interest to either of those communities, so I’m not sure I’ll ever find out. Just in case, though, I’ve got my feed added to Google Reader.

Harddrive Recovery

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

This is a plea for help. My portable external hard drive died this week. I’m not sure what happened – it just suddenly stopped working one day. I had a lot of files on there that I need. Rob has tried everything he knows how to get this thing working again, to no avail. I need to find a hard drive recovery service, but I’m scared to use just any ole site I find. Have you used a service like this before? Do you have any places to recommend? Please let me know in the comments – I’m desperate!
