I’m slowly coming out of my funk. Thanks to everyone who wrote to me and/or left comments here. It was truly appreciated.
Things at work are really rough. I used to have a whole team of people working for me. This week, the last two of them gave their notice. I’ll be able to replace those bodies, though, so it’s not all horrible, but it will be a pain getting the new people up to speed with no one left here who is intimate with code.
I’ve been getting various weird skin ailments. First it was the poison ivy - which turned out to not be a very bad case at all, hardly any itching!. Then I got some weird rash between my boobs. I’ve been treating it with anti-fungal stuff and it seems to be getting better. So basically I had jock itch between by tatas. Who wants a piece of me??? Now I’ve got really dry, itchy skin on my eyelids and on the outer corners of my eyes. What in the world?
Speaking of weird skin stuff - Grace has something going on, too. The underside of her snout has these weird lumpy things - I have no idea how to describe it really. Which is hell on a Google search. How am I supposed to be an Internet Veterinarian if I can’t come up with the right search terms? Seriously.
We had our family portraits taken this past Saturday. There were 14 of us and we all wore white shirts and blue jeans. Cute, right? Well, I think it looked okay in the pictures, but walking through the mall was a whole ‘nother story. I’m going to post that soon, I swear. I’ll post the pics, too.
What a week this has been. Very tumultuous at work - we’ve laid off about 15% of our workforce at the corporate office and my two guys gave their notice. But enough about that. Life goes on and I’m sure everything will work out exactly the way it is supposed to.
Tonight Rob and I are going to the Comedy Stop at the Tropicana in Atlantic City. We definitely need some humor to take us into the weekend. Before we head down there, though, we are dropping Grace off at a kennel pet resort and taking our kids to my parents’ house. After the show, we’re going to my sister-in-law’s family shore house where we’re spending the rest of the weekend. Can.not.wait to get down there.
Tomorrow we’re going to Picture People to get family portraits taken for my parents’ 40th wedding anniversary. That should be fun; there will be between 13 and 15 of us depending on if my parents decide to get in the picture - crammed into a mall portrait studio. This will be blogging material if nothing else.
And I just found out the best news of the week - we were originally coming back from the shore early because we had to come into work on Sunday - and now we don’t have to do that. Yes! I really need the full two days off this week.
And how was your week? Anything fun planned for the weekend?
This is a shot in the dark… but, I’ll try anyway. Are there any WebTrends experts out there? And by expert, I mean, you’ve worked with WebTrends 8 Enterprise edition with the Smart Source Data Collector. Like I said, a shot in the dark, but I figured I’d try with my lovely readers before I go out actively searching. I actually am working with someone from WebTrends now, but I’m having a problem that has not been resolved for quite some time now and I’m looking at my alternatives.
I’m also running Google Analytics, and having a problem with the conversion funnel for one of my profiles - it just happens to be the same profile I’m having trouble with in WebTrends. Logic would say it’s a problem with the site and not the analytics programs, but in all the tests I’ve run so far, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Anyway - if you’re a guru, please leave me a comment.
We’re going through a lot of changes at work lately, with one of them being really cutting back on costs. At the same time, we’ve got a lot of exciting projects on our hands that are hard to keep track of because so much is going on at once. We would all like a reliable, simple, and affordable CRM solution, but haven’t had a lot of success finding or implementing one. One of the reasons is a simple lack of time to do the research. Today, though, one solution landed in my lap and I’d like to document some of its features here for my own future benefit.
In case you’re not aware, CRM stands for (in this instance) customer relationship management and put simply, is a software solution for being able to see at a glance all pertinent data about the business and the customers that make that business. The software I happened upon is called AIMpromote and the first thing that caught my interest was the price. At $33 per user, that’s quite affordable, especially compared to industry standards. Here are some of the features relevant to our business that are included with that $33.
Lead Attention Meterâ„¢
Custom Lead List Display
Lead Export
Lead Import
Lead Opportunity Value
Campaign Performance
Return on Investment (ROI)
Return on Advertising Spent
Task Calendar
Newsletter / Mass Mail
Visitor Tracking
Web Analytics
Those are just a sampling of the features, too. I’m impressed! Definitely one to bookmark for when we’re ready to implement something like this.
Last year when one of our company’s most favorite employees gave his notice, we knew we’d have to do something pretty special for him on his last day. I believe one of Rob’s employees came up with the idea to completely fill his cubicle with balloons the night before. We knew he’d have a great reaction and would take the idea and run with it. And we weren’t disappointed!
What I didn’t know then was that a .Com Marketing Interactive Ad Agency would be interested in seeing a video of the prank. I’m glad we filmed it now, though, because it turns out that .Com Marketing is interested in it! I hope they (and you all, too) enjoy. This guy is absolutely hilarious. Man, I miss him.
